Me, Ultralite, and another TBHíer (name escapes me), saw quite a few birds, just none where we were sat up at.

We hunted this morning got 2 ducks. Big moment for me and my dog he had his first and second retrieve! We saw a lot of teal in the area only had a few groups circle. Also had a run in with a young gator. Gonna get back at em in the morning and hopefully dodge the rain unlike today

Not bad for first day. Should have had a few more if I was a better shot. Birds flew late for us. From 7:30 to 9:30.

Slow around us in Garwood. We had 16 for 4 shooters, but had a rain move in & got most then. Before that at 8 something we had 3. Talked to several other groups & same thing ,slow.

Just seeing if anyone was paying attention.

Got the pic from a game warden buddy, he busted 2 groups shooting woodies this AM, one group seemingly knew no better but the other group had them hidden, or so they thought.

My in box was filling up and I got visions of Mr Green Jeans showing up at the house dressing down the boys while I was at the farm. Thinking back, I would like to hear my boys recount of that game warden encounter

At least they were actually ducks. We saw some woodies on the way to Sealy and I wondered how many of those and bootlips got smashed yesterday

But, its like a snipe shot during dove season...

North Texas is very hit or miss for teal. More times than not they do not stage in this area for any length of time. Just passing through. For consistent teal action during September you got to go south towards the coast. However regular season greenwings love north Texas waters.

1 shy of one man limit this AM. Was only one at ramp....Guess the GWs got those idiots shooting woodies.

Speaking of game wardens, talked to some Collin county GWs Iíve never seen today. Friendly as heck. Never anything to fear when youíre following the rules. Also saw them pole and push their boat 150yards to my spot to check me. That was a treat.

This was cottons my GSPís first real hunt and real retrieving. Hopefully can have him be a dual threat retrieving during teal season then hunting quail. Donít think itís in the cards for him to be in cold water.

Saw 5-6 wads per day on the coast but they were moving out and wanted nothing to do with our spot. Calhoun County is basically underwater and they had too many places to land. The last 5 years we had 4 man limits both days. 1 today was all we got. We heard three shots on Saturday and about 10 today. Most folks seemed to pack it in and stay at home.

Glad some of y'all got into them. We got rained on the whole morning, and by the end of the hunt the pond level had come up so much my decoys started floating off

2 teal decoyed....none left. Little slow but it was good to be in the marsh again
