The weekend got off to a good start Friday night with Bisch shooting a pig, but it was skinned before I got my camera, maybe someone else has a LDP. (confession: I had a nice pig come in that evening but I shot high and the arrow glanced off his back) After dinner the games commenced under the lights. First up, a double elimination, head-to-head "speed round" seeing who could break 3 balloons the fastest. The distance was pretty short so it mostly came down to who is a "fast-nocker" and who is a fumble-fingered "slow nocker" We then shot at balloons pinned to the 3d targets. Lots of ribbing, grief-giving and fun!
Saturday morning, Chew scored with a nice fallow doe!
Saturday afternnoon we shot a full round of 3d. Only kill zone scores - 3points from the white stake, 5 points from the yellow stake, 7 points from the red stake. A hit outside the kill zone was a minus 5 points.
Chunky takes no chance on this one and shoots from the white!
Chew lets one fly
Time for the maximum distance game. Anywhere on the buffalo keeps you in the competion. Two chances then those that hit move back 10 yards and shoot again.
Then just for grins we moved back - way back. We didn't have a rangefinder (we are trad guys after all) but it was estimated to be 175-200 yards.
Bisch was the only archer to hit it!
