We have bears coming around from time to time mainly west and south to Kinney Co. Most all are subadults that are ranging on their own. They don't know really how to be bears. Mostly getting into trouble.

Black bears are all over west Texas. They started coming across into Big Bend, there are a lot of them out there, they have moved into the rest of Brewster County and into Val Verde County. I have seen a video taken at Amistad of a black bear coming out of the water and running up the bank. It would not surprise me they have made it to Camp Wood. I keep hearing about them in south Texas in counties bordering Mexico.
