Default Would you trade Clowney ?

Hearing rumors and a few articles about a possible trade between Houston and Cleveland...

Clowney for the #4 pick

Clowney in a contract year and you could get Minka Fitzpatrick with it at a rookie deal.....

They better. They've wasted more money on less talent before

Be interesting to see how this new GM does.

Yes for the 1 and 4.

But for real at a minimum of the 4 and the 33rd overall I would trade him. Contract year and get a rookie to help offset money until we can get over JJ contract

The other guy is injury prone and hardly ever sees the field during the season. It would be tough to get rid of Clowny.

I say if you believe Clowney can be a 15 sack guy with a fully healthy Watt, then you don't trade him....

If you think he is a 7-8 sack guy then trade him now...

We need def back help immediately.....

The Kevin Johnson pick has turned out to be a waste

Why would CLE do that? They are "TRYING"(ha) to rebuild. Clowney wont bring them over the edge to winning anything next year. Giving up two top picks in another crap year for a year of Clowney would be foolish.

As injury prone as he is and with as many holes that the team has, I'd absolutely have him on the trading block. What good did he do the team this year? 1 superstar doesn't get you anywhere. Historically, the Texans are a prime example of that.

Yes, the Texans have plenty of cap room. Plus, he is in the final year of his rookie contract and his salary for 2018 is already determined. Cushing and Joseph are both coming off the books and D. Brown was traded. Those were all big cap hits last year (off season).

To your original question, probably not, but if the right package comes along they would be stupid not to consider it. The #4 and 2019 1st rounder from the Browns would be a good starting point I guess.

Cleveland has a lot of draft picks for the next 2 years they might be worried about to many young players. They could be thinking about veteran leadership. Also not all of there picks will pan out and Clowny is proven. Houston can't afford JJ & Clowny and we all know that JJ is the teachers pet. I doubt Bob Mc Nair will ever trade JJ.

Keep Clowney.

If JJ comes back, trade him. Get something for him before it’s too late. Plus, it’ll give him a chance to win a Super Bowl. He’s wasting his talent in Houston. Year before last, the Texans had the #1 defense in the league, WITHOUT JJ WATT.

If Watson and mercilus can get healthy, the Texans will be ok without watt. Houston needs an offensive line and a defensive secondary. I’ve never seen a secondary give up so many pass interference penalties.

You trade him if he can get you closer to a championship by doing that.

I believe he has good value now. Low 1st and a 3rd with a player added to the deal. Possibly OL

I doubt Cushing has any real trade value. Clowney will command 120 ml in free agency and will get it. I wish they would have traded out of the 1st pick in 2014 but Rick Smith's demands were too high. I can't see the Texans paying two D lineman 100 million dollar contracts. So if someone is willing to give us the 4th pick in the draft, I would do it. We have one offensive lineman that deserves to start. Use that pick to draft the best left tackle in the draft.

I know that coach in NE would trade him. But what does he know.

It's already 3yrs too late on trading JJ. It's cut him or pay him. Those are the only options right now.

It'll be an interesting off season for sure this year. I was never a fan of Smith and I wonder how much maneuvering the new GM will do since Smith is only out for a season. I don't see them ponying up the cash for 2 9 figure players either.
