your "truck gun"

this may have been asked before. whats your go to, best, love to have it next to me, wont leave camp without. truck gun?
mine is a single shot NEF .243 with a 8.5x32x50 scope. dial it in for the up close work or max it out for the long stuff. short so it goes out the window easy. very safe. cheap too. so I really don't care if I touch it with a wet hand, lean it out in the rain. one other point. unlike a AR type shooter. I don't need to worry about the brass being kicked around the cab.

When at the ranch I always have this S&W AR 15 Wilde...in the truck, UTV..it's always there. My Army son (yep, sniper/recon) camo'd it for fun a couple of years ago while home from deployment so no worries about scratching, etc. Loaded with green tip Federals, does a trick on hogs & other critters.

I'm considering putting cheap grendel together while parts are cheap. Problem is I have hard time buying cheap stuff and the dang thing would end up being $1500 by the time I was done and I wouldn't want to drag it around in the truck all the time.
