    Chiggars

Is anyone else experiencing an unusually horrible year for chiggars, or is it just my area?

I guess I got into some during turkey season and they still freakin itch!
Somehow my son and white who were with me almost every step of the way didn't get them...

They are bad bad bad this year. Dust your legs and shoes with sulphur and you'll be good to go. Dust your bare legs and feet now to get rid of the ones you got, it'll make the itching stop pronto.

worst ive seen it. I was eaten alive this weekend, itch so bad I wake up about every 2 hrs. I even tried to prevent it with Sulphur powder and insect repellent....didn't work

I suspect it was because we had such a mild Winter. Repeated hard freezes seem to result in smaller population the following Summer

Hog hunting weekend before last I went through the pasture to get to the woods, Bahia seeds are up to my ribs the grass is so tall and thats where them bastages wait to attack. I got a couple on my leg and belly but a few in a place you don't ever want them. Luckily just a few. Saw a tick crawl across my shirt and I killed it that evening as well. No bueno.

Same experiences here. I've been getting them the worst when I'm mowing weeds.

I get 50 to 100 bites every day that I go out to work on my land. It's ridiculous.

Not too bad with those, but lots of ticks.
