    I'm jealous....a lot.

I'd like to try some luminum some time. What power source is that spool gun hooked to, and do you run pure Argon?

Yes sir, pure Argon . Wes can answer all your questions better than I can. I'm sure he will post again soon. I do know there are better machines to plug the spool gun into than we used that have more fine adjustments.

Man, I'm fallin behind in the tool category. First Reuben has a CNC plasma, now yer zappin up luminum bumpers and cuttin'em with a cold saw. I guess I'll always be a hack.

Chop saw with a carbide blade and wd-40.
I've cut hundreds of feet of that tubing with em.

The 30a was plugged into a millermatic 200.
                      I prefer a trailblazer 302 though.
It will work with those, big blues, 40d Millers with the wc-24 control box
Will work with a bobcat 250, just need the wc-115 w/ contactor control box
Or it plugs right in to a 250, 251, 252 mig machine

Man, that looks nice! Sometimes I wish mine was aluminum instead of the big chunk of iron I have hanging way out front. I do like the added protection though.

                            It's stout and light!

                              Rookie questions...

Do you cut steel with it?

I have a dewalt chop saw, with the regular abrasive blade (noisy, sparks, and all that)....but yours looks like a different saw.

Are you talking about a carbide tipped blade that looks more like a wood miter saw blade (with carbide teeth for metal) on a slow rpm saw made for metal?

Or a high rpm chop saw like mine, with a carbide tipped blade, and wd40?

I started to buy a spool gun a few years ago for my little Miller 175 and my dad (who has worked for a well known mfg. of aluminum truck tool boxes for over 40 years) said I wouldn't like the results. They ran push/pull setups for aluminum on big machines.

I now have access to a Miller Regency 250, which I think will run that spool gun.

I'd like to see a close up of those welds. Not to critique (or to assume I could do what you do), just to see what the rig is capable of.

I'm just a weekend mig steel weldin guy, but I'd like to think I could make some reasonable sense of some aluminum jobs with it.
