The doc’s and Jr are about to kick off our final hunt of the year. I just crawled in the back seat of the truck after letting the crew sleep the past 2-3 hours. We are headed to my sister and brother in laws ranch by junction to start. We had planned on leaving Amarillo at 1 or 2 pm but lil doc operated until 5 pm so here we are!!!! Trying to get junior his first axis is priority number one.
The schedule:
Saturday/Sunday-hunt sister/bil place by junction. Axis on menu!
Sunday evening/Monday/Tuesday am-Christmas in San Antonio with the family
Tuesday evening/Wednesday am-bowhunt our lease at mason
Wednesday pm through Sunday am-annual star S hunt
At star S junior will be looking for a buck up to about 170 and if we get some time with the bow he might give that a go. Lil doc might try to poke a Dama with a bow and there could be a markhor in the mix with bow if I can get close or rifle for her if not. I might shoot a deer if any left and junior may need another exotic to keep his fire lit. Should be a good trip and great times with family and friends. Some cool gifts to be given as well! I’ll try to post up pics and updates as we go. Nap time for now, I have an hour until we hit the gate.
