Any Harley mechanics?

Looking at picking up a 91 softail custom. Anyone know any details on the 1400cc engine, good and bad?

Harley EVO 80 is a 1340 cc motor. It has a very good reputation. Aluminum heads and cylinders if I remember correctly. But like all engines, bad maintenance will render a good engine into a lemon. Have you ridden the bike? I would recommend taking it to a mechanic or take a mechanic with you. Good luck.

Google search for posts on HDForums. In my experience there will be an issue with any years if you dig enough. Make sure it’s mechanically solid and have fun. Post pictures.
