I think it would be cool to get all the knife makers to agree on a basic knife shape then they could all produce a knife based on their vision of what it should be. If the entire set was auctioned off at the end, I bet it would raise a ton of money.

Now there's a good idea! Even though I wouldn't have the coin to buy that many knives!

Not only does he do awesome work at a reasonable price, but he also stands behind his product 100%. I will be buying another knife from him later this year.

Here's the first one out for 2016. Kinda wanted to keep it for myself. My random pattern Damascus with Red Stag and nickel silver on the handles riding in a Chocolate Shark sheath. Richard

Cool thread. Just finished my first knife. A challenge, but brother, it won't be my last. I profiled and practiced on a piece of mild steel to get a feel for it and then bought some cmp154 steel and scales from my buddy Rubydog. Lookind for ideas for my next one

Thats a nice blade there! Do more of those!

But honestly, if you want an idea, make a knife like the schrade old timer sharpfinger skinning knife. One of the best feeling skinning knifes ive ever held.

Yeah, I'd like it if we had a forum for knife making, too. There's some really talented people here, and everybody seems to have their own style. I started making knives after being inspired by some of the people here.

One person I didn't see mentioned is Akey. Akey hasn't posted any knives for a while, but I remember being really impressed with his fit and finish.

I've got three threads right now with knives I've made.

Both of these are still available:
http://discussions.texasbowhunter.co...d.php?t=596530

#2 and #3 are still available on this thread:
http://discussions.texasbowhunter.co...d.php?t=593163

Did another Damascus Caper/EDC. This one has stabilized Rams Horn scales with copper mosaic pin and lanyard tube. Still need to put an edge on it and add the leather lanyard. I haven't stitched the sheath yet since I'll be putting this one in the classifieds when its done and thought I'd wait until someone claimed it. That way I can dye it black, saddle tan or just give it a bath in Neatsfoot oil depending on what they want.

I make knives but nowhere near what others on here can accomplish. Others make show knives that can do any work. I make knives that work but can't win any shows lol. I'll get there one day.
Loved the previous idea of getting a bunch of us to make a batch of knives to auction off for a good cause. Would be very cool.
