Shane(killem all) mentioned in one of my brushy hill threads about using a "wiggle pick" to dig pit blinds. Had no idea what he was talking about at first. Decided to look it up on line and saw many different versions.
I had always just used a shovel and maybe a little gardening hoe. When the ground is real moist its easy but if your in rocks or the soil is real dry it can be tough digging not to mention loud.
I used an old leaf spring and ground it down, welded a scrape piece of 1 3/4" pipe to the top for a push grip and welded a 1 1/4" for the handle bracket. Then used a hammer handle from the hardware store for the handel.
You "wiggle" the pick in the ground pushing on the top of the pipe grip then pry the dirt loose. It works excellent!
Took me about 45min-hr to make. prob gonna epoxy the handle and spray some bedliner on the grip.
