    Built In's

We have a pretty large playroom upstairs but were lacking some storage space. So, I decided to build these built-in shelves/cabinets. The entire bottom part is 21" deep from the wall with cabinets on the left, 4 large drawers on the right, and a large toybox area in the middle which will double as a bench seat. Also, since we just put down the new floors, I didn't want anything that might damage them. Everything is fastened to the walls, and everything that rests on the floor has felt under it. I still have to install the quarter round along the floor and wall and do some touch up paint, but it's almost complete. I'm pretty proud considering I've never attempted carpentry to near this extent.

Very nice work. What wood(s) did you use to build everything? Did you spray paint or roll? Nice floors as well

Mostly 3/4" sanded pine plywood. Trim is 1x3. Just rolled on the paint/primer. My biggest concern was building the drawers from scratch, but they turned out pretty good. They're are several things that I know a pro could do much better, but then I wouldn't have the satisfaction of saying I did it myself.

As far as the floors, my house had over $40,000 damage done by the hail storm in April, 2016, so every square inch of flooring in my house was replaced...I wasn't about to try to tackle that much. Called in the pros for that.

I was wondering just the other day about that. Glad it's working out for you. I think this woodworking is becoming a little hobby for me.
