he's probably only 3.5 and if it was on a ranch where I was pretty certain it would make it to next year I would try and pass, but I would have a hard time not whacking wither way

I wouldn't personally but a lot of guys would and I wouldn't blame them. Young deer. If that is low fence genetics kudos to you for some nice deer.
