I bought the Leica and really like it. I'm not a long range competition shooter or anything but wanted to be able to range a deer at 400 yards or better. That's the trick. Lots of range finders will range reflective targets at long range but not soft nonreflective targets.

Leica Geovid binoculars has built in range finder. Will range way out past 1000 yards with a steady rest. Best glass in the business for eye relief also.

G7. If I were buying now, I would look into the Sig Kilo 2400 with AB or the G7. I hit a pig on first shot at 1,390 with my 7LRM and the G7 range finder.
