Default Mexico MF 8 - Age & Score

This is a passthrough for a buddy. He wants some opinions on age and score. He is torn if he should take this for his trophy. He doesn't see what I think I see!

I would shoot this deer at first sight! I do have some history with this deer. I used to hunt on this place and saw this deer 2 years ago. It looks very similar except with the addition of the kickers off the bases and slightly bigger everyone else...

Love big MF 8s with chunk!

I passed on a large MF 8 with both brows splitting like this one because he was a bit you and I was hunting a large bodied old 9. Lost the lease after that year and after lots of theapy I'm sorta ok with it...sorta.

I hunt small pastures (currently 350 acres) in an area where everyone hunts, now if I like what I see and it floats my boat and it's over 3.5 I won't hesitate.

I'm with your buddy on this one, not a trophy by Mexico standards. Definitely would love to have him, heck of a character buck, but not what I crossed the border for.

This is more similar to what I think. I gave him more on his beams and tines but less on his mass. I have this deer closing on mid 50s and really cant get him underneath 150. Someone needs to grab the cerveza from my hand before I talk my buddy into shooting him and then him being disappointed...

Well done, I like your thinking, mass might be a little less and yes it is hard to try and score a velvet buck, and I think that deer is plenty mature.
Good Luck

1 - I don't like to give scores on deer still in velvet, I'm just not good at it
2 - THAT BUCK HITS 150" no doubt !
3 - anyone that would be disappointed with a main frame 8 that goes 150 has way to high of expectations, JMHO

Age may fool ya on this one.
I clock him in at 5 1/2 to 6 1/2 for sure. Protein has him in great shape.

Definitely stretches the tape to 150"
Awesome deer.

I personally would never take an 8 in Mexico as a trophy - even if he had kickers and a drop. But that's me

This place isn't the caliber of your place Stupid! This is probably an average deer for you! Any thoughts on the score?

No disrespect at all. He's a good lookn 8 and I would be happy to take him just not as my trophy. I have him mid to high 30's. The extra stuff off his brows make him unique to me. Good luck to your friend!

Yeah this deer has a kicker off each base besides his 8 MF. Kickers look to be 9-10" worth...
