And I can't find him he was a perfect typical 8. shot him about 4:45 yesterday afternoon and started tracking 30 mins later. Shot looked good. Quartering way Looked to be about heart area. Tracked blood until 8:00 blood was very few and far between and eventually dwindled out and we couldn't find any more. Gonna go try to look again In the daylight. But I bet I shot too low and sliced through his brisket. There's a chance that he bedded down for the night to try to heal himself and the yotes get him

Well I figured he would have lived through it. Followed blood last night till 8 o clock and the blood stopped. Looked again this morning and found no more blood. Don't think a dog would be able to track him with as little blood as there was. But I just started walking trails where I thought he may have bedded down and he was about 100 yds away from where the blood stopped piled up in thick cedars. Shot was straight through both lungs. Craziest thing I've seen never seen a deer run so frikkin far after that good of a shot. Having trouble uploading pics.

And he never said the deer was alive for 3 hours, just that it took 3 hours of tracking. What takes a deer 10 seconds to run with minimal blood can take a person 3 hours....
Good job for sticking with it and congrats!!
