On MLD lands it is trailboss.
I know what you are talking about Jamie, it's a huge place but they only manage a small part of it for this type of deer and only the owner, the guy in the picture, hunts that area. He's a Mexican national and is one of the richest men in Mexico but he loves to hunt and spends a significant amount of time on the Chaparrosa during hunting season.

What a beautiful buck, congrats to the hunter.
The pressed pants don't bother me one bit. Heck, my grandpa wears pressed, kacky pants everywhere he goes, even in the middle of summer, so who am I to judge a man that hunts with starched, brown kacky's, especially considering he was probably in a blind or high rack, etc...
What I will say is that this deer looks more like a Northern deer than a South Texas/Mexico buck. I'm sure he was either brought down from up north or was a result of breeding from a Northern strain deer. Regardless, it almost makes you wonder what that will eventually do to the native deer here in our state? I'm all for growing bigger bucks and healthier deer; however, I think there has to be a trade-off to the after effects that might not even be felt for a generation of hunters down the line?
Sorry for the long "question", but it's 4 weeks into the 2007 season and i've yet to even draw back on a deer! I'm starting to have withdrawls and lacking sleep at night due to this horrific start to my 2007 season
