    Duke coon traps?

Do you have to have the tool to set these things? Looking at buying some, I can get the traps overnighted for tomorrow, but the set tool would not show up till next week.

I set them by hand. Smart has a good video on the 2017 coon carnage thread for another way to set them using a piece of ¾" pvc pipe. Not sure if it's linked on the 2018 thread. I've never used the tool.

Yep, can easily set by hand. They work extremely well, just make sure check them often.

I set them by hand and yes, they work extremely well. I only set them when I'm at my place (5 times a year or so) and my hit rate is almost 100%. Which tells me I have a lot of coons...

By hand or i just use a big set of Channel Lock pliers just to get it started and then use the set pin as leverage to set.

Ive always used a big screw driver to set mine.

Pretty easy if you step on the stake.

Not as easy if it is sitting on a tailgate
