Spring Top 6 and 12 volt batteries Warning!

If you use the spring top style batteries in your feeders or lanterns be sure to cover the spring tops when transporting as if anything metallic comes in contact with both terminals the heat generated can start a fire as I found out in my truck on a deer hunt several years ago.

Don't put a 9v battery in your pocket without the plastic protector. It can set your britches on fire. Trust me.

I was sitting in my blind one night and kept smelling something burning. Couldn’t figure out where it came from. I looked down and a knife in my hunting bag had connected both springs and my backpack was smoking! Talk about ruin all my scent free efforts!
