Default 1000 LB corn feeder

I had a slow spell in the shop this wee so I decided to start on some new corn feeders. They are 4x4x1 plus the funnel. Iím thinking overall height of 5í. Made out of 14 ga steel.

Here is what I have done so far.

Your figuring on 20 bags per feeder? Im asking only because I'm bout to start this myself for a couple 1000 lb protein feeders.

Yes, but that was a guess. The top part will hold 720 lbs, just not sure on the funnel.

But I do know that any feeder will hold more corn than protein.

I finished them both today and am dropping them off for powder coat. I tried the lance low throw route. They turned out good!!

Well done as usual Jeremy. Nothing you build ever “blows over”, does it? The horseshoe handle is a nice touch

Looking good! I built a few very similar to yours a while back. Only problems Iíve had that I would change is the small doors make it a little bit of a pain to fill completely full without shoving feed into the sides and corners and I didnít put enough slope in my funnel so occasionally it gets hung up on the sides Iíd it gets down to about 300#. Corn would probably flow a little better though.

Great job! I paid $1,200 for my 1000 lb feeder.

Those turned out great.

I work for a commercial glass shop. We deal with aluminum. I wonder if I could do one like this out of .063 aluminum with aluminum angle? HMMMM

Thatís a good deal. I was quoted $350 a piece to powder coat a couple protein feeders. Needless to say, mine are painted with rust bleeding through already.
