On the cattle ranches in Montana, the rabbits sure have a different color and frame size compared with what I see here in TX . Never tried hunting them. Usually too busy working cattle.
The jackrabbits here look different than the ones in West Texas I've noticed. The ones down there are darker and really lanky lookin.

          Congrats.
Jack rabbits in West Texas are a sub species. When I was there with a biologist he wouldn't let me shoot any.

Rabbits by bow is fun stuff! Those white fluffy ones you see loafing around in wire cages are the easiest and best eating. After that I prefer cottontails for eating, I just slowly walk the roads early and late until one is spotted then stalked. Jackrabbits about the same hunting but they are noticeably tougher and stringier in entree dept.

When I was 8 I killed my first rabbit in my backyard with a bearsuper razor-head from a red wing hunter recurve and I've been hooked. Lots of armadillos met their demise that way as well.

                            Congrats on the pig!

As far as rabbit's, fry cottontails and soak jack rabbits in buttermilk over night then slow cook them in a crock pot.

We do. Night time is fun because there's usually tons of them at our little place.
