I made an executive decision and changed sets.
I met Clark at the truck, got a bite to eat and talked about our morning hunt. As we were talking the cell cam at this set showed 3 different bucks cruising thru.
I decided I would put the rest of the day on the North side of our property and see what happens.
So I'm sitting in a lock on in a finger of trees that deer are using to travel back & forth from bedding to cut bean fields. This was a hot spot in early season, died off when the beans turned brown, and has shown a lot of recent activity since beans were cut.
Clark went to the same set I was in this morning and that he hunted yesterday evening. He should have another great evening hunt.
Hang in there with me. I'm trying to make it happen.

Don't listen to this guy! Kill one today and be back in Texas in time to hunt tomorrow evening!

                      A little back story...

Swoop is a huge bodied 8 point that we have tons of pictures of. Both main beams curl up at the ends, hence the name Swoop. We new he had a massive body which makes it hard to judge horn size on camera.
We both agreed to give him a pass being that we have bigger deer on the property.
Glad I got to lay eyes on him.

Also had this small 8 hammering the rice bran and a spike running a doe ragged in the timber to me East.

                      Great hunt so far!!!

Just got some awesome footage of Swoop crossing field headed back South. He was directly down wind of me.

Yearling in the rice bran now. Click image for larger version

How is the weather? I see some SNOW in the forecast for parts of Kansas tomorrow.
