Sony Handycam HDR-CX560V is what I have. It is compact and easy to use. I really like it. Not sure where it stacks up on the quality but it was $850 which I thought was decent. It is a good camera and does everything I need.

I went thru this a year ago. I would spend $300 and get the Panasonic FZ70 Point and Shoot instead. 14 mega pixel still shoots, full HD video, and a 60x optical zoom (that extends to 200x using extended digital. I use it for hunting and everything else, it has been a great investment for me.

            Sony handyman projection

I bought the sony projection handyman camcorder. High definition, 1080 p & even has a projector that blows up to about an 80" screen tv. Pretty awesome and it ranges from $300 plus.

When I record my hunt, I turn on the projector in my stand to view my shot placement etc... Pretty darn handy.

It can get expensive when you start videoing your hunts. I have 3 cameras now and it seems like I spend more time setting up and taking down video equipment than I hunt... It's worth it to get a shot on video though. Have fun. For the price, you can't go wrong with the sony line. I also use a Canon HG-10. That one cost a little more but shoots good footage in low light conditions.

That camera mount is from Insane Archery. Ike's outdoors did a review of it a while back. Seems to be a pretty solid mount in that it locks into place.

I started trying to film hunts early on this last deer season, but it got to be such a hassle that I stopped doing it, then wound up killing my buck the next week . Managed to get a shot of my nephew missing a decent sized hog tho!

My current setup is to use a Gorilla tree mounted camera arm. I think I might spring for a Gopro or a Kodak playsport to mount on my bow itself.

I use a sony handycam for my main footage, and a gopro for a secondary and also a canon photo type camera handycam works best and it has great sound too

That's really cool. Seems to be a a lot of prep involved before a hunt. Can't wait to get my first kill on camera.
