They just fill out a wildlife resource document. When I was on patrol and knew the local GW very well I had them all the time. I probably dealt with a couple deer a week and if they were not mangled too bad Id usually find someone that wanted it. that was 10 plus years ago but I would imagine it is still the same case.

This I've seen GW do this on deer that were just shy of 13in.
Fill out a W.R.D. and let the wife or buddy take possession of deer.

                  Same traffic.

I would call him and he email or bring me a yellow tag. He didn't even care about horns if that was the case[emoji16]

I swerved to miss a deer one night and hit a curb. Bent the tie rod and rim. Deer escaped without a graze.

I got a day off and told..."Next time hit the deer"

No arrow was found but the GW thought that was the cause of the wound.

Does he not carry a knife? End it, and put her down instead of letting her suffer.

This deer still alive? I'm 5 minutes away from there if my assistance is needed

The deer was put down a few hours ago. And no he didn't have a knife on him.

So you think wounded animals can’t be put down out of season?
