    Plow disc cooker size?

    I've decided I need a disc cooker. But I can't decide what size. When I'll use it, I'll likely be cooking for a group, so I figure a 22" instead of an 18". But would going up to a 24" be a better idea? More area away from the heat to pile cooked food? More cooking space? The 24s seem to be a bit more money. Also, would you get one with a 1" ring around the edge? I'm thinking yes.

    I use the 22'' with a 1 '' edge.

      Had the 18" and upgraded to 22" inch. 22 is better......don't have the edge but can definitely see that it could be useful.

                    Nice,
                    There is a tractor place in Nacadoches that does them. Got them for $55 and they make some with handles.
                    He said they sell more for cooking than actual tractor replacements

                        I use 26" disc harrow blades and put a 1.5" lip on them.

                              I did the 1" rim and cut a 1/2" gap in mine to make it easier when cleaning. I also went up about half way maybe more and ran a welding bead around mine to help hold food back when cooking other stuff in the middle.

                              Remember bigger is better easier to have extra disk then not enough.
