Default BIG Boar Down!!!

Saturday evening I went to a stand that I haven't hunted yet this season in hopes to eradicate a hog or 2. The wind wasn't blowing in my favor as it was blowing my scent right into the direction pigs and deer come from most of the time but at the same time I was testing out my ozone generator that I used on my clothes. About 7:10 p.m. this big boy came strolling in from downwind of me and never spooked. He eased up towards the feeder and presented a broadside shot, I drew back and waited until he turned quartering away and WHACK!!! He went 30 yards, stopped, then took off and stumble to his death. Super stoked!!! One of the biggest boars I have ever shot and with my bow on top of that. We were guessing him to be around 250-275 pounds as our scales broke last season and we haven't replaced them yet.

Congrats on a good hog! Just curious as to what brand of ozone generator you are using?

Nice boar. What time did you go in? I went in Friday evening and was sweating. I could hear a hog come toward the brush but he smelt me and took off.

Went in about 4:45 p.m., it was definitely hot and I did sweat a little myself but I think that ozone in the clothes help contain it. Plus the good Lord blessed me .

I used a regular 100 grain 3 blade muzzy broadhead.

Hey man!!! Nice buck in your avatar! Naw we aren't duck hunting that spot this year. We found out later in the season why it wasn't as good in the mornings as it looked like it would've been, it was a roost hole. Last 2 days of the season me and Zach went out there and saw hundreds if not thousands of birds flooding in 10 minutes before dark all going down in that buck brush.

Thanks!

Well that explains it then! I had a hunch it may be a rooster, but never watched it in the evenings. It was worth a shot!

Congrats on taking a huge nasty porker with bow and arrow. They have a snout like nothing else in the woods. I had a really big gnarly boar come out on me Saturday morning, working his jaw and making that teeth popping sound to intimidate the other smaller pigs I guess. He circled and got down wind of me and that was it. No shot. But it's early and I'll get another chance. Those big ones are plain smart.
