It was a blast for sure. I took the axis to be processed, I just had him quartered and some of the neck meat and other trimmings in the cooler. when they weighed just the axis, no cooler or ice he tipped then scales at just over 91 pounds. the old white tail was 43 pounds.

Yes I'd say you had a good hunt. Congratulations on both critters, not an easy thing to pull off. That axis is very impressive, I can see why you got nervous when he bolted from the shot. Thanks for sharing your successes. Makes me want to pack up my stuff and head back to the deer woods.
