    Canada 2018

Hard to believe it’s been 5 years since we lived in Calgary. I was hunter hosted in 2015 and set out 2 years as required and just got the word all my paperwork is good with the Canadian government so I am a go again for September. Down 30 lbs and working out hard as I prepare for the hiking and elevation. My bigger concern is my lack of bow hunting experience and actual shooting. Since we moved back I turned into full time guide for the wife and I really need to get to shooting at distances again.

Looking forward to seeing my Canadian brothers and seeing some beautiful country !

What are you going after, mule deer, elk, moose?

I am primarily chasing elk, but will be getting over the counter tags for elk , mule deer, whitetail and bear.

The region and time I am hunting will lead us to chasing elk primarily with the potential to slide to another unit with open mule deer. The reason only reason I am buying whitetail and bear tags is in the event I return for rifle whitey hunt in November and bear in spring of 19. Can be hunter hosted only every 3rd year and with kids all off to college this fall there is a decent trip I can pull off multiple trips this time around (I have airline miles so only work time off is in question ).

It's September, when do you leave? Or have you already left?

How in the world did he stalk through canola swaths? That’s tough to do.
