              I would let him walk. You can't judge what he really will look like until the velvet sheds. He looks thick antlered for a spike but I would think that is just the velvet mass. If you can afford to let him walk, let him walk.

                what is your deer density??? if you would not miss him shoot him---i do agree that he is young; not sure of a yearling; more in line of a 2.5 thats another reason to smoke him---just my opion

                      Interesting. The vote is nearly exactly split. I guess he's going to get to try again next year. I'm in an antler restricted county. Of the pictures i have so far, he's the only marginal buck. The other bucks i've got pictures of are either good, to pretty good. With age and nutrition, etc. the others all have a chance to be really, really good. We'll give him a year and see what he does. Bad news for a couple of does. Thanks for the input.
