Hmm, dogwood seems to be the one. I just read that they're quite edible, like beautyberry. Has anyone eaten them before?

If Terry says it then that is what it is. The man really knows wood.

No, really, the man is in the wood business. He is the guy to ask when needing to know about wood or trees. He really knows his business.

My Mom has about 100 acres here in Henderson county that has thousands of dogwoods on it. It was said that Christ was crucified on a cross made of the majestic dogwood tree. God said that never again would that tree grow tall and straight enough to be used again. He then took the blooms and made them pure white and in the shape of the cross. On the tips of the flower God placed some red that signified the blood of Christ.
That is the story of the Dogwood Tree

The "Wood Man" knows it's a Dogwood.
