Ain’t as young as I used to be......

Push poling a pirogue a mile and a half across mud, well let’s just say I should have left that to the young fellas because I’m hurting all over this morning [emoji38]

Been a few years since I messed around in a pirogue. Looked like a good planned pack out hunt?

That does not sound like fun, even for young guys.

I used to have a go-devil motor man I wish I had never sold it.

You are more dedicated than me lol. Anymore I’m fairly selective of my outings.

But did you enjoy your hunt?

Duck hunted out of one a couple of times, never anything like a bowhunt but thought about it

What were you chasing? We need details of the hunt to weigh the consequences of said pirogue!

I used to push/pull a 14' john boat about 100 yds across mud to bow fish all day then push/pull it back to the truck.

I was young, strong and dumb.

I checked a camera. Only had a doe and yearling and a small 6pt. I was going to hunt but I got worried the the cold front and north wind would blow the little water that was in the lake out and I’d be dragging all the way out so I got out of there. It is bucks only gun season in this public and they allow dogs to run deer. As I was nearly to the spot I would park the pirogue I heard the dogs burning and saw 3 deer running through the swamp bottom...

Once. Still dumb. If my back was not a wreck I'd still probably do it.

Man what a cool thing to do. Never done it, but I bet even I could really sneak up on a deer or two...
