Will it come back?? Spanish Oak.

So this big red oak crashed down a couple weeks ago. Before that is was Huge (for the hill country) and mostly full of fresh leaves.
I am probably just going to cut it off flush with the ground and protect and water it.
What do you think? Will it come back?

That stump looks pretty rotten, I wouldn't get my hopes up.

I agree, went from full bloom to this in 2 weeks?
I had one in the front yard that "died". I burned that stump to about a foot below the ground last year. Now I have a sapling coming back from the root that I missed.

She is cut off and I pushed out what I could with the tractor.
There is some live tissue on the top side.
I'm gonna burn the dead wood while watering the live.
Then fill with compost and water again.
              Will it work?

Yessir, they love to have their pics taken, just like a gamecam.

So, pics of fire won't load, too many pixels!!

So it fell over and then you burned it? Now you're gona waste water trying to grow it back? Just transplant a seedling.

Ok, I am going to let it burn down throughout the night.
In the morning I will water it good and see what happens.
