Bipod - mat with lip to push slightly against. Bag in the rear - use my fist of off shooting hand on the bag to support under the buttstock/grip on my stock.
GOOD bipod. Atlas or Evo. I'm running an Evo currently and have an atlas around somewhere. Harris is good if you don't want to spend a lot. Then I use a Caldwell rear bag from a $25 prefilled set from academy. They work just fine. Sometimes I don't use a bag at all
I'd love to have that rugged ridge but just don't shoot prone outside of the range that often. I'm using Harris bipod with a leather rabbit ear bag on the range
I made my longest shot on an animal last week from the prone position taking this Javi at 493 yards on the Chaparral. I was actually carrying a 17-23 inch bipod made for the seated position as I had been calling for yotes. As luck would have it, the group of Javi were down hill and I found a small hole to rest the bipod in making it work in the prone position. Using my pack as a rear support I had near bench rest stability and sent the 75 grain Amax to its intended target...DRT.

I forgot one key component to my comments about not using them that often...$$$$. I've handled one and they're extremely well built but the sticker shock...
