Finally found our big buck, 200 inches, not 278!

But not the way we wanted to. We haven’t seen him since November of 2016, searched every where, looking for sheds this year and found him. 2013-14 season he scored 199, 14-15 season scored 206, 15-16 season scored 199 7/8, he’s been sitting in the sun for 14 months so I would assume there’s a few inches of shrinkage. Thought he was poached, guess not. Click image for larger version

Amazingly well preserved. Can't believe varmints haven't chewed it to nothing.

Same here, the bottom jaw along with the rest of the bones were all still there.

Hopefully he has more than a few sons running around. Glad you know what happened to him but it is a shame.

We thought 6 1/2, after looking at bottom jaw, probably 7 1/2.

                    Dangit, sorry man.
They can survive the craziest stuff, then just up and roll over and die.

I have to say you were unbelievably lucky to find him in all that thick south Texas brush.
