Latest spotted fawn I have ever seen on our place in 10 years....

......and no its not Megafawn's minifawn.. Date and time are correct.

Was looking through the cards and saw the late spotted fawn my buddy kept telling us he was seeing in mid December. I thought it was one too many whiskeys.. But he was right.

I was surprised to see a fawn this size and still carrying its spots in late December. Means momma was probably bred in March or April considering fawns normally keep their spots 90-100 days and she still has them?

That is crazy! I don’t think I’ve ever seen a spotted fawn in September around here, much less late December!!!

I thought finding a fresh shed today was weird.

I think late spotted fawn wins.

Wow, that’s a late born fawn. Crazy. I saw a spotted fawn this year in late October and thought that was late, but this one takes the cake

Wonder if she will be bred this season?

all fawns aren't "normal" in losing spots. I have seen known age fawns at six months look like that fawn. It happens. May or may not of in this case.

I have seen a very small, 2-3 week old , fawn first week of Jan in Alabama before.

The average is 90-110 days. I had to google it[emoji51][emoji3]. That’s why I listed that. There are exceptions to every rule of course but 180-190 days with spots seems a little long?. Especially looking at the size. I’m gonna roll with late birth... I think the percentages are in that favor.

Funny seeing this. Saw a spotted at fawn out in Edwards Co on Tuesday and thought was very odd for this time of year. My guess is yearlings getting bred in January and fawning really late
