Almost anywhere in Texas can grow some nice bucks if they are allowed to grow, but the counties along the Oklahoma border seem to produce the biggest bucks. For numbers I'd say Brown, Comanche, Erath, Hamilton, and Mills. There's good and bad in every county, really just depends on the property and management.

This is funny because this isn't far off. Then throw in the fact the deer numbers are low in Grayson Co.

I have always been partial to Throckmorton, Archer, Shackleford counties. If you can find the right place, they can produce some big bucks up there

Or llano for #'s, but low fence quality sucks. Its amazing the difference in quality in the neighboring antler restriction counties like lampasas, if fact its not even close.

I sure wish McCulloch county had a AR of a 17"-18" minimum spread.

You might first want to find some land(s) available that is in budget and THEN ask which is better. If you treat any of these answers listed above as legit, finding land there will be a major challenge.
