Well as many of you know I was lucky enough to harvest a great buck with my bow back in October. Well yesterday evening seem to be my lucky day #2. Late yesterday evening on my way home from work I thought I would stop by some family land and check cameras. Heading up the road to first camera I notice a buck way off in a hay field chasing a doe. I figured it was a little buck being we never see many big deer in this place. I picked up my binoculars to reveal by no means was this alittle buck. It was a giant for this place or any place in burnet county. The only gun I had with me was a 223 normally my hog gun. I could only get about 250 yards from this deer cause he in the wide open. I decide to take a hell Mary shot with the 223 I aimed at the neck hoping to either kill the buck or miss him. I pulled the trigger and could tell the deer was hit the doe took off running but I didn’t see the buck go with her. I was unsure where he had went. By this time it’s pretty dark. I walk into the hay field which was about 24” y’all and started walking a grid looking for this buck. About 30 min later I was surprise by what I found. I had killed another burnet county stud. I was by myself so I couldn’t get pictures in the field and it was dark by this time. The pictures I got aren’t great cause they are inside the processor.
