    Axis hunting

Can you tell me your experiences if you have hunted axis in the rain. What I'm wondering is are axis like whitetail and tend to bed down or do they still move around.

They react to weather just like everything else. They brush up in the rain. They head for thick cover in a protected canyon when the cold wind is blowing. They look for a shady spot with a breeze when it's hot. Etc....

I usually wait for the rainy days to hunt axis. In my experience they seem to like the rain and move pretty good in it, at least in my area.

The morning after a good rain is the best time to see an axis in the daylight, from the data I've collected and what I've seen personally.
