Is there an AR for dummies, or a youtube link, or something? I see lots of guys builds, but I need something more like a step-by-step. Obviously this would be a very small budget, but would probably be built over the course of a year or so. Basically if I work a side job and make $50, instead of buying a few lunches, I'll buy parts for an AR, but don't even know where to start.

I built one buying parts and watching YouTube videos. You have to watch buying parts little at a time because shipping can really blow up you budget in a hurry...free shipping deals are your friend. It is hard to build one as cheap and as good as you can find in places like Palmetto State Armory for a complete lower with Magpul furniture and a complete upper at a hand full of mail order places after watching for sales.Last edited by Cantcatch5; 01-05-2018, 03:12 PM.Comment

Everything has been covered for the most part. Do not try to save money on the trigger or you will not like shooting your finished product. I typically say the same thing on barrels, but for a budget build - your call!
