Our '53 M38A-1 sat idle this winter and is no longer starting.
I only have a very simplistic understanding of this.
Electrical checks have been conducted on battery, points, plugs, gaps, etc and I've (pretty much) eliminated those as problems.
I've established fuel at the carb (tookoff nut and saw dribble of fuel).
My next step was to gently inspect the float for holes (can cutoff fuel supply) and needle (which can stick after sitting).
However, the pic of our carb doesn't seem to line up with the M38A1 assembly view from manual/ online.
Ours:
Online assembly pic:
Should it be rotated like so?
Or like so?
Seems to my eye the final pic of the assembly diagram matches best....
Any thoughts/ recommendations from the green screen would be appreciated. Thanks!
