Looks like a Texas Rat Snake to me.
But if I saw it in my house, which is what looks like happened, all I would see is a Copperheadedwatercoral

Young rat snake. I caught one like this and kept it as a pet for several years. It got to be almost 6 ft long before I released him.

One of the good guys.
I've caught and raised snakes for almost 60 years and still have a very hard time identifying juvenile rat snakes from different regions of the state.

He wondered in to a furniture shop owned by the wife of a friend. Unfortunately they were convinced it was a copperhead.
