    Weekend Project- Headboard

Well my wife has been wanting a headboard for our new bed, but since the baby boy will be here pretty soon our funds are thin. So I spent this weekend in the shop. I've got about $145 and around 15 hours in it. My wife had no clue what was going on so the surprise was priceless!

native_texan, I really did this one in my head. I had a mental image that I just had to figure out how to put the pieces together. You need some basic measurements of your bed, starting with the width of your frame, then figure the desired height of your headboard. I used white pine 1x4 and 1x6's and red cedar fence planks, that I sanded down smooth and sealed with Min Wax conditioner and natural colored stain. I'll try and work up some plans if I get some time soon.

Bank those points towards your 'kitchen passes' now 'cuz when that baby gets here it's gonna be hard to get away (74 days and a wakeup).

How do you hook the handcuffs to it?

I need to do this too. I might steal some of your design. Good job!
