Ya'll should also try Moore Plantaion in the Sabine National Forest. It is located on Toledo Bend and offers some of the best deer hunting I have seen. I have been going there for over 20 years now and have never failed to fill a tag. You can also camp in several public camp grounds close to your hunting area. The hogs have gotten crazy as well, so you might have an opportunity to stab some pork as well. Get your Annual Hunting Lands permit and try it out.

I think both are good. Last season I hunted mostly NAILS but YEGUA you have more water. As for the other comments about the crowds the opening and weeks after are the worst. Like Mr. CROD said it better during the week. I'll be out there this season. Hopefully I can have some success this yr.
Did some scouting in FEB and March and already have them save on GPS.
GAME ON.....

Ok boys...got the ok today for the scouting trip. Lets plan on meeting in a central location for everyone that wants to caravan. Also, due to the lack of time, so we can get everyone and chance to get spots lined out, try and narrow down areas via Google earth that you would like to start at in the scouting process.
If this works out we should be able to get everyone at least one, maybe two spots to hunt before opening weekend. I will be available and willing to help anyone clear shooting lanes etc.
Lets start the sign up and list your location you live so we can centralize a meeting place for those that want to caravan.
Also, we will be eating lunch and maybe dinner on either of the two days of scouting..... I gotta have my food

Some FYI the army corps of engineers has duck blinds out there that are on a drawing raflle system. They meet in sommerville somewhere and draw for pre poistioned parts on the lake. There is a fee but refundable if you clean up your blind location at the end of the year. This could give ya'll a guanteed hunting spot.
