I feel the same way.

I will say I do find myself listening to Paul Cauthen's album on repeat quite often though.

I never would've guessed so many people considered him part of the Texas country scene.

No way I could ever pick just one...

But I will add a couple favorites that no one has said yet... I think.

Alabama - Cross Canadian Ragweed (I'm a transplant)

That's why God loves Cowboys - Aaron Watson

White Trash Story - Casey Donahew

New Tony Lamas - Daryl Dodd

Corpus Christy Bay & The Road Goes on Forever - Robert Earl Keen Jr

They might not all be "Texas". However they are red dirt, and I like em.

I really hate to be so cynical, but George Strait has absolutely nothing to do with Texas Country. Neither does Miranda Lambert or George Jones. Just because the song says the word Texas in it does not mean it is Texas Country. Sorry to sound so rude but music is something I am very passionate about and Nashville polished pop country crap is not the same.

Early George Strait was absolutely Texas Country. Now later in his career he might have gone Nashville but that wasn't always the case. Heck Strait was ran out of Nashville because he was to country/ Texas and was about to quit music but his wife convinced him to give it another year. A cancellation at Houston Rodeo and a sold out crowd later... well as they say the rest is History.

Was surprised this song took so long to be added in here. Same for me and my wife. I just purchased the lyrics to this as a hand drawn decorative art work signed by wade and personalized to give to my wife for our anniversary.
