I am just not sure how this could have been any cooler. Maybe if they'd have let you fly the chopper. But, that's about it. Strong works docs.

I don't think so so. We sampled it all so far. Taking chamois jams and backstraps to queenstown with us to a restaurant Colin recommended. They will prepare that. We already have enough weight in bags and freezers full of yak, bison, scimitar, and deer!

Seems like this is a common occurrence with Lil doc and the son when y'all take a trip

Of course a mid afternoon nap after wine/beer tasting doesn't sound like a bad trip

Is that Prosciutto she is eating in the one pic?

What are the plans for rest of trip? Catch a rugby match if time allows, it's a cool experience to watch something the Kiwis are passionate about and not to mention world renowned for. Just a thought. Either way keep the updates coming sir

Headed to queenstown for 5 days. No set plans. Lil doc wants to zip line and skydive. I'm all for it but I may be too fat for the weight limit! That really sucks. We shall see what we find.

Headed to queenstown with no set itinerary. Staying at a nice hotel. I'm sure there will be lots of coffee, wine and good food. May try some extreme thrill seeking stuff if my weight isn't a limiting factor. Skydiving said you had to be under 220 lbs. I think I last weighed that as a freshman in high school! Maybe lil doc and I will just cuddle and spoon, isn't that what married folks do????

One last group of pics getting the chamois out. Was too steep for the copilot/assistant to drag him up. Had to drop a long line and sling him out!

I don't plan on stopping! I obviously have an addiction. Somehow animals die when I go on these hunts. The bills seem to get paid and I live a happy life!!!! It's gonna keep rolling.

Try "saving this image" to your computer. Then reload it to your avatar. Should be 124 pixels wide by 165 tall. If that doesn't work, try shortening it to 164 pixels tall.

Doc we were there a few years ago and did very similar hunts as you have. I suggest going to see Milford Sound - quite an experience. Also a day trip to a town on the coast called Akaora is well worth the drive - incredible drive and the town is awesome - get the fish and chips down by the beach

Enjoy

First stop was at Lake Tekapo.

Next had to feed the lil doc!

And a cod sandwich for myself. All at the wrinkly rams cafe!

All finished with some lolly cake!!!!

Getting things lined out here in queenstown:
Tonight-checked in, drinks, dinner at the public
Sunday-giant zipline, dinner at the bunker
Monday-road trip to somewhere. May do the giant canyon swing thing. More drinking!
Tuesday-private wine tour
Wednesday-private dinner and wine pairing with chef at a vineyard.

Dinner last night:

Cheese rolls and some sort of a gin cocktail.

Baked flounder.

Venison osso bucco and a cous cous salad.

Dessert coffee, can't remember what it was called. After dinner we walked around downtown and the wharf. Bought some scotch and wine for the room. Today its ziplines and another nice dinner!!!!

I was over the weight limit for the zipline and an obvious liability! They would not refund lil doc so she is flying through the trees while I sit at a bar. Kind of sad! I got the big "NO" on sky diving as well. Max weight was 220 lbs. feel like kids football all over again when they would not let me play because I was too big. I guess it's back to the gym when I get home. Maybe book a sheep hunt for motivation.
