The African cichlids are very colorful, entertaining, expensive and extremely territorial, in case you're not already aware. They'll totally destroy each other on occasion, especially with the wrong mix. Love em! Had tanks for twenty years, finally got tired and gave it all away. Have to go back and load a pic or two.

You will be amazed, a lot of those will look nothing like they look now as they mature. And yes very territorial, they will move your plants gravel around constantly as they mature also. And fight all the time.

I would recommend having a Plecostomus, great for eating algae from the rocks.

I got two of those now!!!
Got a freshwater PUFFER FISH delivered today from my aquarium maintenance guy. I have at least 8 baby fish hiding under rocks, with 3 other cichlids carrying babies in there mouths. This thing is exceeding my expectations honestly.

Great looking tank Oscar! Cyclids are very entertaining fish. I had several tanks in my youth. Never got tired of looking at them. And always gave a sense of ease in the atmosphere. Last one was sometime in the early 1990s. Got to where I was going hunting so much, and gone so much, I just couldn't take care of them any more. So I gave them away.

How bout the sheds? You still got 'em in there? When you mentioned the algae jumping on them, my first thought was... That's EXACTLY what I would have assumed would happen... every antler I ever found that was wet, or in the water was very well coated with algae... The antlers are very porous... Hope the coating your tank guy gave 'em worked out for your... Need to get GarGuy to get you a little gar or two...

Antlers doing really good after the tank settled down! I still don't know what he put on them. He did say he would retreat them every 2 years to keep them conditioned. Here are a few pics from today. I removed most of the plants so the antlers would stand out even more.

Nope, I channel surf all day when in my office......variety is the spice of life. Sadly, FOX is talking to a psychiatrist about the Cleveland shooter........big whoop as he speculates his way thru the interview. The BBC was talking about the Turkish election potential outcome.....that outcome would be Sharia in the gateway to Europe if they cant figure that out! So, I was waiting on the latest from CNN. All 3 talk the same non-sense consistently with there own special twist........I love VICE news actually!!! Any thoughts on my aquarium?

Yea you can join and we need some new blood...LOL. We do have 2 auctions a year, 1 show a year, and a handful of meetings. The best part is that most of the people breed fish and so you develop a pipeline of home bred fish that are better/healthier than what you can buy at a pet store. Often at half the price.

THE TCA auction will be April 30th. It will start around 10:00 or so. It will be at the DFW Hilton South in Irving. Unfortunately our oldest daughter will be turning 30 so I am sure there will be some crap I have to go do instead of hitting the auction....LOL.
