Pretty cool SR. Looks like a perfect area for turkeys.

I cannot divulge that secret. Butbyou can get brief silence by telling him what the known high scored are at the current shoot. Not only do you get silence, but then you watch him blow a shot in frustration

That's why you always buy a Mulligan and on your second arrow double lung the Elk at 45 yards.

Life is sweet and so was that shot!

And what you have "seen", is me shoot a tourney with a bow that the string was jacked up and would not stay seated in the cable guard wheels. It was causing erratic arrow flight and placement and got in my head real bad.

Besides, shooting around a real Pro made me nervous.

I should have got Sherry's autograph

Yeah, now I'm ready. I've been bow building for a couple of months. (I'm really slow) Now I have a couple of bows in my kids hands and have Vanderpool in the rear view, I could go for some scouting action.

Or even a little pig spot and stalk

Load him up. It's not about the competition anyway, it's about enjoying yourself shooting bows and lots of laughs!

Bringing pigs up. Have y'all been out to the lease? We need to go get that feeder. If it's still there.

Negative, haven't been. I figure I would just do some spot and stalk in there on a good nasty, misty rain day. Maybe we could double or triple team them and push them to each other.

Y'all crack me up. I'm all about a spot and stalk! Just let me know when. I haven't been out there in quite a while either. Too busy on this bulkhead, almost daily, catching cats.

I shot my first turkey this year. And I will admit I missed my first shot. So getting one with trad stuff had to be a big high for you. I would still be out there flinging arrows at them if I had trad gear.

Missed the first one too. Went straight through its back feathers.

Luckily 30 mins later another came by and stopped at the same exact spot

After like 10 attempts, I finally killed a squirrel today.

Killed a triple beard bird as my first and only turkey ever.
Kinda ruined.
But trad gear would be nice. Tried going to BPS to get a jig and some feathers to Fletch up my arrows for my recurve. BPS is too high on their gear. I guess I just need to bite the bullet and do it. I really need to practice, which is hard without arrows.

Yep. I blew feathers also. But that's always the first shot. The second your nerves are more in check.

Should be cheaper. It's the wal mart of all archery gear. From trad too Olympic recurve. From hunting too top gear for outdoors.

Depending on what you need, this guy that runs a shop called the nocking point is pretty dang cheap. Doing some personal pricing this weekend of my prefered equipment, his prices on beaman shafts are cheaper than 3 rivers or lancaster, feathers were about the same at roughly $7 a dozen. But I couldn't believe how much cheaper he was on stuff like string material and points/broadheads. And he charges actual shipping. But for you it would be hard for me to do anything but just recommend you get a 6 pack of beamans already fletched from 3 rivers for about 60 plus shipping.

I already have a dozen bare shafts here. I need to Fletch them and put the inserts in. I'll need the gear anyways to refletch in the future. ( I had all the gear, but sold it all, many years ago) ( doh!)

Are you going to try and bareshaft them? I would only fletch a few of them for now and use a glue that you can heat and remove the inserts so that you can bareshaft when you're ready. I'm about to do the same. New string then start over with a dozen or more bareshafts.

Yes. But I think that's a little overboard for what you need. A blitz would be better suited. It works great but it is expensive. I can see if I can get it cheaper through Last chance if you really want it.

Try using white hot glue. It works best. I am always changing out tips and it works great.
