Great build. I can't let my wife see this. It will cause her to ramp up a couple of projects for me.

Looks good Dale. But where is the trap door to clean out the ashes?

I know it's open front but it's nice to have that trap door in there.

Everyone tells me I'm crazy for doing a full masonry, but I've wanted one since I was 11 years old when I started work putting together fireplace setups In the shop. We shipped 10 or 12 a week back then, we don't do 2 a month now days.

Most folks don't even know what they are.

I didn't put one in because they all rust out at some point, and because it's outside.

Makes sense.

Also because I plan to cook in there some, and grease running down the ash dump didn't seem like a great idea.

Nothing notable today. Ran power and HDMI to where tv will be. Ran power, hdmi, and coax through brick where I'll put a cabinet to hold the directv box, stereo receiver, and cookin tools. I also left a heavy piece of slick wire in there to pull speaker wires down. This was all much easier today before they close up the hole up at the ceiling.

Got gas line and power in before they get too far with the "kitchen" part.

Concentric power burner, should work nicely with the disc.

Wow...coming along nice Dale. I really like the patios like this when you incorporate the existing roof line. We had ours built very similar but without the fireplace. They don't look like "add-ons" but rather part of the original house build.
That's going to be very nice sir.
