Yup. Archery permit only allows deer and hogs during archery deer season (with possible MLD extension as quota allows). No other species or seasons.

For rules and regulations, start here ...

http://www.swf-wc.usace.army.mil/geo...on/Hunting.asp

" Hunting quail, turkey, raccoons, bobcats, foxes, and coyotes is prohibited at this time." - from the site link above.

There are 2 pemit types. (There is no "general year round hunting permit" to my knowledge.)

Archery deer (deer and hogs only)
Small game (dove, rabbit, squirrel, duck)

You can submit your applications starting today! Anyone fill one in yet?
Looks like they changed it from four member teams to three members teams.

If you're exempt from the draw you cannot be on a team.

Default Anybody ever heard of any Mountain Lions at LG

I know this is a little off topic but I was white bass fishing at Tejas this spring and I found a track that looked like it should have been from a big cat(no claws and large and of course more round. The bottom of the pad is a little different from canines. I have been around them at our ranch since the 90's and have positively identified their tracks several times and had several visuals and have lost quite a few animals to them.

It had just rained and there were of course some dog tracks along that main trail. This set I followed for several hundred yards and then it left the trail up into the hills. I asked the caretaker and she said she had one guy out there this fall that swears he saw one in that area but you know how that goes. Anyways just curious and figured ya'll would be a good group to ask. Thanks.

Appreciate the response but this track was at least twice the size of a bobcat track. Big track with no claws showing on well over 50 good tracks. Who knows. Thanks.

Anything is possible....... but I'll remain a skeptic, for now at least.

Just counting the Corps land, you have 1200 acres of land with approximately 100 game cameras running ~6m of the year over baited sites (which draw a lot of food sources in the form of squirrel, skunk, raccoon, mice, fawns, etc), and not a single recorded image of a mountain lion reported (to the best of my knowledge). Since we cannot hunt them even if we see them, there would be no motivation to keep the photos secret.

Do you have photos of the tracks?

I use to hunt at Tejas and I found a track like that. I talked to a man that walks out there and he saw a mountain lion at the corner of the big field.

I don't know that area very well really. But I found this track probably a few hundred yards from the parking area down on that main trail right on the San Gabriel going towards the lake. I followed it through a creek and then it went to the right to the east up into those hills. There is a field I guess you could call it to the right before the creek.
