    Artifact ID - Smoker!!

I had the privilege of looking at and handling this today. This was found in Kansas I believe by a friend of mines Great Grandfather years ago. It’s a stunner for sure.

Could this be a Thebes Point? Doesn’t look like the right region but the shape is similar.

It could be from another region but they thought Kansas.

I sure would like to know more about this point. Wonder what a point like this was used for?

Maybe it is from a Prehistoric souvenir shop the nomads would stop at.

If it's legit, it was not on an arrow, it would have been on the end of a spear or lance. We have one that is very large, that we found in a creek where we used to live, way too big and heavy to have been launched on the end of a arrow. I know where we found the head, buffalo used to be grazing grounds for buffalo herds.

St. Charles dovetail is similar and found east of Kansas. I am not familiar with that flint(chert) type though. Hopefully garguy will chime in. You got me fired up to go dig tomorrow.
